Hey! I’m TaErra. My journey in the mental health field started out with deep desire to understand the world around me. Even as a kid, life often felt confusing and scary for me but I soon realized that I had the chance to move forward, stronger and wiser when I could make sense of the things and put language to my experiences. I've come to learn that this is a skillset that we all possess!

I earned a B.A. in Psychology in 2011, a M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2023, and became independently licensed in July 2025. During my clinical experience, I've worked with those struggling with substance abuse, conflict in parental and romantic relationships, trauma (including sexual abuse, infidelity, infertility, domestic violence, etc.), codependency, sexuality identity, and spiritual disconnectedness in the Christian faith.

Why Kindling?
A kindling is a type of material that can be easily ignited. A kindling may look small but it has just the right composition to spark something!

What is The Kindling Space all about?
I started The Kindling Space because I know firsthand what it feels like to be overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of your next step. I know what it's like to have the tangible desire to rest in all the beauty life has to offer, but feeling stuck and weighed down by things you don't understand.

This space is built for real people navigating real life. I am a therapist, yes! Trained, certified and a firm believer in the clinical tools of the trade. But most importantly, I'm human figuring things out as I go. I share stories, clinical interventions, tips, tricks and guidance that have helped create more stability, confidence, and joy for myself and for those I have worked with.
